Man Suspected In Worcester Prostitute Killings
WORCESTER (WBZ) ― Worcester police may have a suspect in the unsolved murders of several prostitutes.
A Berlin, Mass. man has been linked by DNA to the death of a Fitchburg prostitute in 1996, the Worcester District Attorney’s Office said.
Police say 38-year old Alex Scesny is also a person of interest in the deaths of five other women, whose skeletal remains were found in several central Massachusetts locations, dating back five years ago.
He was ordered by a judge to provide prosecutors with a sample of his DNA for comparison with evidence in the Oct. 23, 1996 slaying of 39-year-old Theresa Stone.
Police said they had been keeping an eye on Scesny since the skeletons of Worcester prostitutes were discovered in Marlboro and Hudson five years ago.
The skeletal remains of Betzaida Montalvo and Carmen Rudy were found on the grounds of Hillside School in Malboro in 2003, while Dinelia Torres’ skeleton was found in 2004 in Hudson.
Wendy Morello’s body was found in 2004 in a trash can in Maine. Three years later, a hunter found the skeletal remains of 34-year-old Lineida Olivera near Rutland State Forest.
Scesny is currently being held without bail in connection with a Worcester Superior Court rape case.
